What am I assessed on?
The coursework is continuous from the start of the course until you hand it in at the end of year 11. The exam preparatory period starts in January and finishes in May with the 2 day exam (don't worry - you get to do creative things for 2 days straight!).
This basically means that your coursework and exam are marked separately, and the marks are combined to give your overall grade. Each of the Assessment Objectives is equally weighted at 25% - SO THEY ARE ALL VERY IMPORTANT!
- AO1: Develop ideas through investigations, demonstrating critical understanding of sources.
- AO2: Refine work by exploring ideas, selecting and experimenting with appropriate media, materials, techniques and processes.
- AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions as work progresses.
- AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and demonstrates understanding of visual language
